Your Green Party Candidate for North Devon District Council, Barnstaple
Yeo Valley Ward
Sarah Willoughby
I’m thirty five and live in Barnstaple with my partner Neil and
children, Alanna (nine) and Harry (three). I grew up in Bratton Fleming
and have been living in Barnstaple since I was thirteen.
Having trained at North Devon College, I have part owned (with my mum)
a hairdressing salon, “Charleys” in Joy Street for eleven
years. In Nov 05, I opened North Devon's only natural and organic hair,
beauty and holistic salon: “Naturally Charleys” in Tuly Street.
I am a founder member of the Green Business Forum, providing networking
and a voice for local businesses.
Climate Change, reducing energy consumption, renewable energy, waste
(reduce-reuse-recycle) and being organic are the issues I feel most strongly
about. Climate Change is a global problem but I believe that every single person can contribute in
helping to reduce the daily damage we cause to our planet and make a
difference.
The Green Party are fielding over 1,400 local candidates all across
England in this May's local elections. We currently have 93 councillors
at District level or above, and expect to gain many more seats this year.
