The Bradworthy Wind Turbines |
Local Elections Thursday May 3rd 2007Your Green Party Candidate for North Devon District Council, Bishops Nympton Ward
I live on a small-holding in Bish Mill with my wife and step-daughter. I am committed to environmental causes and work throughout the South-West installing solar panels and domestic wind turbines I was a founder of Trans-Send, the North Devon based community enterprise set up to promote renewable energy and sustainable living. I believe that the way we generate and use energy is both the major contributor to Global Warming and within our power to change. By developing household and village-based energy generation systems, we can significantly reduce the damage being done to our environment and help secure a safe future for our children. By supporting public transport and creating safe routes for walkers and cyclists, we can reduce dependency on our cars and the increasingly unstable supply of petrol. By shopping locally and using farm shops and Farmer’s Markets, we can reduce the environmental cost of food distribution.
